What does a custom build cost? +

It depends on size and complexity, so we price each one after we understand what you are after. Send your tank size and the idea, and you will get a real number back with no obligation to go ahead.

How long does it take? +

Ready-made pieces from the shop ship in 12 to 14 business days.

Custom builds are harder to pin down, because it depends entirely on the size and how involved the piece is, and how many builds are already in front of yours. Rather than quote you a number we might miss, we give you a real timeline once we have agreed on the design, before you commit to anything.

How does something that big ship safely? +

Small pieces ship nationwide to your door. Large handcrafted scapes have real height and joints and can be fragile in transit, so depending on where you are we can hand-deliver to a nearby reef show, arrange local pickup in Pennsylvania, or deliver and set it up on site. We confirm the best option with you before you pay.

Do I need to cure or soak it first? +

No. Custom builds are made from dry MarcoRocks, which is reef safe straight out of the box. A light rinse to knock off dust is all it needs. New to these terms?

Can you build a theme you have never done before? +

That is the fun part, and the answer is yes. Past builds include a crashed Star Destroyer, a Game of Thrones sigil, sunken shipwrecks, submarines with floating mines, Chinese underwater dragons, Christmas snowflakes, a lifelike octopus, breast cancer awareness pieces, and names and business logos. A full Dracula tank is in the works.

Will it actually work as reef structure, or just look good? +

Both. Every piece is designed with flow and negative space in mind, so water moves the way it should and corals have room to grow out. Caves and arches are sized for fish to actually use.
