Rockscapes
Reef tank rockscapes, built to order
A rockscape is the structure your whole tank gets built around. Ours are handcrafted from porous, reef-safe rock, one piece at a time, for saltwater and reef aquariums from nano tanks up to a few hundred gallons. No two are alike.
The difference
Built as one piece, not stacked
Most aquarium rock scapes are a pile. You buy a box of dry rock, stack it until it stops falling over, and live with whatever shape you ended up with.
A ChandlerRocks rockscape is built as one structure. Caves, arches, overhangs and shelves are cut so the scape stands on its own, keeps the shape you picked, and leaves flow paths open instead of choking them.
It is porous, reef-safe rock throughout. Nothing leaches, nothing swings your parameters, and it cycles and colonises like any other dry rock.
Sizing
Built to your tank, nano to XL
Send the footprint and we build to it. A nano reef rockscape has different problems than a 320 gallon: less room to hide the base, less forgiveness on flow, and no margin at all if the piece lands an inch too wide.
Tell us the tank dimensions, what you plan to keep, and where the returns and overflow sit. The scape gets designed around those instead of around a stock size.

Contact UsWhat is a rockscape? +
It is the rock structure a tank gets built around, also written rock scape. In a reef or saltwater aquarium it does three jobs at once: it holds your corals, it shapes the flow, and it is the thing people actually look at. A pile of loose rock does the first job badly and the other two by accident.
Will a rockscape work in a nano reef tank? +
Yes, and nano is where handcrafting matters most. There is no room to waste on a bulky base and no margin if the piece is an inch too wide. Send the footprint and we build to it.
Is the rock reef safe for a saltwater aquarium? +
Yes. Every piece is porous, reef-safe rock. It does not leach, it will not swing your parameters, and it cycles and colonises the same as any other dry rock.
Can you build a rock scape for my exact tank? +
That is most of what we do. Tell us the tank dimensions, what you want to keep, and where the returns and overflow sit, and the scape gets designed around those. Start on the custom builds page.
How is this different from buying a box of dry rock? +
A box of rock is raw material. You still have to design the scape, make it stand up, and hope it holds. A handcrafted rockscape arrives as the finished structure: already shaped, already stable, already leaving the flow paths open.
Are these made to order? +
Pieces in the shop are built already and ship as they are. Custom scapes get built for your tank after the design is agreed, so they take longer. Ask on the custom builds page and we will give you a realistic date before you commit to anything.

Send the dimensions and what you want to keep. We will design a rockscape for it and hand-build the thing.
