Give your reef a centerpiece with some personality. This compact skull rises from a rugged rock base, with a textured, weathered look that fits naturally into an aquascape. Place it on the sandbed or work it into your existing rockwork to create a scene that becomes even more striking as the reef grows around it.

Openings around the skull and base add depth and places for small marine life to explore. This version has no pre-drilled frag holes, leaving the design uninterrupted.

Choose your style: Vampire, with small fangs on the upper jaw, or Normal, a plain rock skull. Everything else is the same.

Why Choose Our Rock Skulls?

  • A centerpiece with character: Adds a bold, memorable feature to your reef.
  • Made to belong in an aquascape: The skull and rock base look like part of the structure as the tank matures.
  • Room to explore: Open spaces give small marine life more places to move through and shelter.
  • Easy to place: The compact footprint works as a standalone accent or alongside a larger scape.
  • Each one is unique: Handcrafted details give every skull its own look.

Product Disclaimer:

Each Rock Skull is handcrafted, and the photos are examples of the product you will receive. Slight variations in color, shape, texture, and size may occur.

If your package or product arrives damaged, please contact us immediately with clear photos of the shipping box and the damage so we can help resolve it as quickly as possible.

Do I need to cure or soak it?

No. This is dry MarcoRocks, and MarcoRocks state their rock is reef safe straight out of the box. A light rinse under running water to knock off shipping dust is all it needs, and even that is optional.

Curing is a step that applies to two other things, not to this. Wild live rock has to be cured because organisms that died in transit need to break down first. Cement-based artificial rock has to be cured because it can leach into your water until it neutralizes. Ours is neither: it is natural calcium carbonate with no chemicals or additives.

Cycling is a different thing and it does still apply. Cycling is establishing the bacteria that process fish waste, and every new tank goes through it whatever rock you use. Adding a piece to a tank that is already established will not restart it.

Shipping & Turnaround

Ready-made pieces ship in 12 to 14 business days, nationwide to your door, and tracking is emailed to you when your order leaves the studio.

Custom builds do not have a fixed turnaround. It depends on the size of the piece and what is already in the queue, so we give you a real timeline once the design is settled rather than a guess up front.

Large handcrafted scapes have real height and joints and can be fragile in transit, so depending on where you are we can hand-deliver to a nearby reef show, arrange local pickup in Pennsylvania, or offer on-site delivery and setup. We confirm the best option with you before you pay.

In plain English

A compact handcrafted skull on a rough rock base, about 6 to 7 inches in every direction and 3 to 4 pounds. If the Reef Rock Skull Centerpiece is too big for your tank, this is the smaller option.

It comes in two styles: Vampire, with small fangs, or Normal, a plain rock skull. Both are the same size and price.

It is made from natural MarcoRocks and is reef safe. It has no frag holes, so it is a centerpiece rather than a place to mount coral. Set it on the sand or tuck it into the rock you already have.
